Hello friends,
The month of June finds many of us so busy with things like teacher's gifts,
high school exams, packing for camp, opening cottages and making summer plans!
Because this month is traditionally a tough one for me, so jam packed with
activities and deadlines, I wanted to be sure that I didn't run out of steam
and at the same time, I wanted to properly set the stage for the dramatic
shift in pace that sending my 3 oldest boys off to camp will bring!
In my experience, May and June are perfect for addressing and cleansing the body, inside &
out, and for that reason I felt it was a good time to book myself in for some self-care.
First, I met with Rose Weinberg, "our resident Nutritionist and Homeopath" to discuss any ailments
and nutritional concerns. Rose suggested a 3-week Liver, Kidney ' Adrenal Cleanse to really
give my body a much-needed purification. The cleanse consists of a set of safe, homeopathic
remedies in drop form to be taken morning and night. In addition, I will be limiting my
intake of certain foods such as wheat, corn, sugar and dairy products, which can aggravate
certain conditions. My first session with Rosie was fun and informative, and I felt very comfortable
with her. In addition to the consultation, she also gave me an energy balance.
My next thought was to work out some of the muscle kinks that have been caused by my aggressive and
on-going "spring cleaning". To address that, I have booked myself in for a deep tissue Massage with
our RMT, Sylvia. After that, it's a luxurious Facial with Tunde, some new holistic skin products,
and I'll be all set for summer! I highly recommend taking some time to listen to your body and
give it what it is asking for. For more information on Rose, Sylvia or Tunde, feel free to call the
office or book a consultation.
Until then, be well, and see you on the patio!

Why is it that some of us continue to create those experiences that we really don't want
in our lives? It may be poor health, difficult relationships, lack of abundance or a shortage
of time.
It is said that human beings will only create lasting change under two circumstances -
'Inspiration' or 'desperation' and unfortunately most us wait until we reach the point of
desperation before making lasting impactful changes in our own lives.
I believe that each of us experiences those early warning signs that caution us that something has got to change,
but we ignore these signs, keeping ourselves busied with life's distractions.
The warning signs continue to get louder and most of us just get busier so we don't have to acknowledge
or feel the inner rumblings of our own dissatisfaction.
The effectiveness of our lives is a good barometer as to how effective we are in what we are currently doing.
Look at the results you are achieving, are your results in alignment with your desires?
Giving yourself a few moments of silence each day will allow you to get in touch with those
inner rumblings, quiet the mind chatter and the unproductive thoughts that may dominate your
lives. Choose to fill your mind with positive thoughts, clarity and focus around what it is
you do want in your life.
Proclaim your desires to the Universe; then sit back and allow them to manifest.
Blessings,
Sheila

Many of you have children; some of you may have babies or toddlers, or your children may have
already grown up or perhaps already have grandchildren. But one thing is for sure, we were all
children at one point in our life.
Children are amazing to watch. They are a miniature version of ourselves, playing and acting
out how would it feel to be a grown-up. As they reach their teenage years, they want to speed
up this whole process of growing-up even more. They want to experience what it is to be an adult.
Wonder why? Perhaps, they want to experience a sense of freedom.
"While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about."

Imagine a small group of 5-year-old kids, playing. They know that someone is near to watch over
them, to protect them. They do not have responsibilities; they do not worry about rent and car
payments (we do that for them). As they play, they fully immerse themselves into their little
world.
Can you bring yourself back to that time when you were growing up? Remember how you perceived
colors and shapes? How bright and vivid colors looked to you? You were absorbing everything new,
feeling the excitement in your explorations. Remember how much you were driven by your emotions,
always looking for something fun to do.
You had your own interpretation of the world around you, until someone started to teach you that
this color is the color of the sun, and that color is the color of the grass, and this shape is
called a circle or that a square.
You were also constantly told how to act. That "good boys and good girls don't do things like that".
And if you do it this way, Mommy (or Daddy) will love you. But if you don't obey their rules,
the love may withdrawn from you. Does this sound familiar?
Or perhaps your parents said something like this:
"I recognize that you are a unique individual that maybe my child, with very special talents?"
... and your teachers had the time to give you the attention you've needed...
... and/or your parents had the awareness & skill, to see you as a very unique individual,
the very special being that you are?
Did your parents appreciate the special insight that you as a child brought to the sea of diversity? ...
or the contrast that you have offered to them?
????
I didn't think so!
Unfortunately, most of our parents did not have the awareness that we have today.
Their life was centered perhaps on survival or trying to maintain an image of the family unit that was
acceptable by society standards - to fit the norm.
Now that we are grown-ups, we are free to do what we want, right?
"Relative to our children or any children with whom we would interact, our one dominant
intention would be to give them a conscious understanding of how powerful and important and
valuable and perfect they are. Every word that would come out of our mouths would be a word
that would be offered with the desire to help this individual know that they are powerful.
It would be a word of empowerment. We would set the Tone for upliftment and understand that
everything will gravitate to that Tone if we would maintain it consistently."
- Abraham/Hicks
What are your memories of your childhood? What do you remember the most - the good or bad times?
Stop here - if you wish - for a little while and reflect. Allow your feelings to flow to you freely,
not how your mind remembers them. You may want to write down a few words.
"Work at being a child again, only this time operate from strength, rather than from weakness.
You'll learn how to manage your emotions, think for yourself, and ask and answer questions so you
can live effectively in any situation."
- Wayne Dyer
I had a shocking experience a few years ago. During that time I went through a phase where I felt
sorry for myself for having sad memories of growing up. One day a friend of mine (who is also psychic)
asked me: Do you remember what a happy child you were? It hit me that I REALLY WAS HAPPY. The truth is
that when I grew up I remembered all the sad events in my life and I "thought" that all my childhood
must have been sad. This was very profound for me (Thank you Steve for reminding me of that!)
"There is always one moment in childhood when the door opens and lets the future in."
-Graham Greene
Why not make that moment to come RIGHT NOW to let your future in. Be that child once in a while,
dreaming, feeling and seeing everything for what it is and what you truly see - not what others
see for you. Take in everything in your life as a brand new experience. See the colors for what
they truly are.
"A child on a farm sees a plane fly overhead and dreams of a faraway place. A traveler on the plane
sees the farmhouse...and dreams of home."

If you could turn the clock backwards - let's just imagine...
If you could re-visit your childhood - let's say...
If you can go back to age between 5 & 7 - let's pretend...
If you could make different choices, different decisions of the world around you - let's
just think about it...
If you could remember your childhood dreams - let's continue from here...
If you could choose different parents & different environments - let's assume that
it would serve you better...

The Spiritual Lives of Children
|
A growing interest in the spiritual experiences of children has prompted the release
of dozens of books and stories about spirituality in childhood. Popular writings on
the 'Indigo' and 'Crystal' Children have brought consciousness about
its relevance into mainstream dialogues.
This interactive evening offers an opportunity to participate in these dialogues
through discussion and exploration of current research and literature on children's
spirituality. It will be of particular interest to parents and professionals, and to
anyone interested in learning about the foundations of spiritual life.
